The Naperville City Council has agreed unanimously to hold a series of workshops to delve into the complex intricacies involved in procuring a long-term energy supplier for the community beyond 2035. The exact date has not been set in stone for the first of the multiple workshops, though it likely will be held in the fall in an effort to get us much feedback from the community as possible.

A total of nine students from Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204, as well as two other Naperville teens, were among those chosen as college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship winners. Selected students will receive between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate studies at the college or university funding the scholarship.

Community returns to Naperville 203 meeting for transgender athlete debateMore than 60 people attended Monday’s Naperville School District 203 board meeting to continue the debate over whether transgender athletes should be allowed to participate on teams that align with their gender identity, rather than their sex assigned at birth. The conversation began at the May 19 board meeting after a transgender Jefferson Junior High School student won at a girls’ track meet on May 14.
