D.C.’s Antwon Vincent, better known as Noochie, has received plenty of acclaim since spring 2023 for his “Noochie’s Live From the Front Porch” video series where the rapper has hosted performances by music greats such as Chance the Rapper, Anderson .Paak, Backyard Band, Marsha Ambrosius, Fat Trel, Goldlink, and Raheem DeVaughn at his D.C.-area home.

On the opening track of TRES, the third album by 23-year-old Culiacán, Mexico, native Jennifer Abigail Juárez, the singer-songwriter confesses over a gentle acoustic guitar that she wants to “Write a new album/ One that’s really worth it.” That sort of frankness and insecurity, narrated in Juárez’s sweet soprano voice, has distinguished Bratty, her musical project, since its inception in 2018.

Thanks for being a member of City Paper! A four-member string-centric band hailing from North Carolina already points to Americana.
