India is all set to enhance international travel for its passport-bearing citizens, with the introduction of chip-based e-passports nationwide. The e-passports integrate a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip and an antenna embedded into the booklet. The chips store the passport holder’s data, including biometric information, in encrypted digital and printed forms. Using these chips makes it harder to tamper with or duplicate the passport, making it a more secure option.
