The Kerry farmer regularly competed in the competition as a driver in the late 80s and 1990s, and his farmyard is located close to the rally's finish line. 39 people have been deported from Ireland overnight. The Justice Minister confirmed they'd been sent back to Georgia after failing to comply with deportation orders. This is the second deportation flight to leave the country this year. Minister Jim O'Callaghan confirmed the flight left Dublin last night and landed safely in Georgia this morning, with 39 people on board. The Minister says these people had received but had not complied with deportation orders.
Two people sustain serious injuries in County Wexford crash

A man and a young woman are being treated in hospital for serious injuries following a three-vehicle crash that happened near Clonroche in County Wexford yesterday. It happened on the N30 at Forestwood at approximately 2:40pm yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon. A man, aged in his 50s, and a woman, aged in her late teens, were taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment. Their injuries are understood to be serious, but not life-threatening. No other injuries were reported to Gardaí.

However, the figures are up 4% when compared to March 2023. Over 440,000 foreign visitors travelled to Ireland in March, which is down 15 per cent on last year's figures. They spent €326m on their trips, which represents a 22% drop on the same month last year.

Former Bishop of Ferns Brendan Comiskey dies

A former Bishop of the Diocese of Ferns, who resigned in 2002 following his failure to address allegations of clerical abuse, has died. Brendan Comiskey was 89 years old. Comiskey's failure to address the allegations led to the publication of the Ferns report, an inquiry into child sexual abuse. The report identified more than 100 allegations of child sexual abuse in the Diocese between 1962 and 2002, against 21 priests. Comiskey, a native of County Monaghan, became Bishop of Ferns in 1984.
