    A new Static Safety Camera will begin operating on the N25 between Waterford and New Ross from this Friday, May 30th. The camera will be located on a section of the road in South Kilkenny at Glemore. Vehicles detected driving more than the posted speed limit will be subject to prosecution from 12pm on Friday. A Fixed Charge Notice will be issued, accompanied by a €160 fine and three penalty points.

New figures from the Health Research Board show it's the highest annual number recorded to date, and an increase of 191 cases compared to 2023. Cocaine is the most common drug, accounting for 40% of all drug treatment cases and nearly half of all new cases - this is a 7% increase on the figure for 2023.

    Wexford News A female pedestrian in her 20s has died following a collision at Curraghgraigue, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, yesterday (Saturday) afternoon. Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of the collision involving a car and pedestrian, which occurred on the R702 at approximately 3pm. The pedestrian, aged in her late 20s was removed from the scene in a serious condition to Wexford General Hospital where she later passed away.

They have a combined value of €4.5m, and were seized as part of an operation targeting the illegal importation of e-bikes. They were found at two warehouses at separate locations in Wexford. These e-bikes and e-scooters are believed to have been destined for sale on both the national market and the wider EU market.
