Gardai are searching a remote rural area near Killeigh village, about 10km outside Tullamore. The area is being excavated and forensically and technically examined over the coming days. Fiona Pender, who was 25 when she went missing, was last seen on 23 August 1996 at her flat on Church Street in Tullamore.
