Columbia will undergo an accreditation review during the 2024-25 school year by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The University was last accredited during the 2015-16 academic year, and the 2005-06 academic year before that. Accreditation is a regular “quality assurance” process for universities, according to the provost’s website. Without accreditation, students of the University would be unable to access student grants, loans, and other federal funds.
