The City College of New York’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine announced on Oct. 23 “Bilal’s Boycott Campaign,” a movement to boycott cafés that have expressed political or financial support for Israel and instead patronize seven participating coffee shops. Hadeeqa Arzoo Malik, president of the CCNY SJP chapter, said that the idea for the campaign originated last year, but that the boycott finally began this semester due to the expulsion of an alumni-owned café at CCNY.
