    WMDT – Planet Fitness Trainer Jeremy Smoot has created a special routine that you can try for National Exercise Day. Smoot’s routine is very flexible, and you can choose how long you want to continue. It can be from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. Start off with battle rope playing which can work your full body. He recommends doing as many reps as you can for 30 seconds, taking a 15 second rest and then repeat as many times as you can. You can also add in knife squats, high knees, and resistance bands.

    WMDT – This month is Esophageal Awareness Month, and the Esophageal Cancer Action Network (ECAN) is spreading awareness about the disease. Esophageal Cancer is the fastest increasing cancer for men in the U.S. and it’s a silent killer. ECAN’s president, Mindy Mitnz Mordecai, who founded the organization after her husband passed from what she says it’s a preventable cancer with screening.

    WMDT – The Southern Delaware Orchestra is back for another fantastic concert season. They have two upcoming shows at Indian River High School on April 26th and Cape Henlopen High School on April 27th. The theme for their upcoming concerts is ‘Sounds of Spring — a Musical River Journey Through Europe.”They’ll feature a variety of music from different European composers and Dr. Brianne Borden, faculty from University of Delaware’s School of Music, will perform.

    WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to a new emerging leader. Beth Baker recently won two awards in Southern Delaware Tourism’s 2025 photography contest. She won Big Picture for her stunning picture of a sunset at Cape Henlopen State Park and the After Dark award for her shot of the Lewes lighthouses at night. The contest is meant to show appreciation to Southern Delaware living and showcase the beauty of the area to potential visitors.
