DOVER, Del. – Police are currently investigating a crash that claimed the life of one Sunday morning. According to police, around 4:15 a.m., they received a report of a crash involving a Kawasaki motorcycle around White Oak Road and Garrison Oak Road. When officers arrived, they found a 58-year -old man lying in a field by the road after being ejected from their motorcycle. The motorcycle was on white oak road before it suddenly veered off the road and hit a ditch causing him to eject.

POCOMOKE, Md. – Police are investigating shots fired in Pocomoke yesterday morning. According to Maryland State police, around 1:30 am, they received a report of shots fired at 4300 residential block of Stockton road. Police learned that the shots were fired at a home in the area, but no one was injured.

DOVER, Del. – In Dover — Police are investigating shorts fired at Simon Circle. According to police, around 2:30 pm, an officer was in the Simon circle area when they heard shots being fired. When more officers arrived, they learned a 17-year-old had been shot at, but was uninjured. There are no leads at this time, but the suspect was a black male in dark clothing.

WMDT – We are back in Lynn Matava’s kitchen. Lynn is a Nutrition Educator with the University of Maryland Extension, and she has a recipe for red lentil curry. This plant-based meal is packed full of nutrients especially fiber and protein. We’re told that lentils cook faster than any other bean and this entire recipe only takes 30 minutes to complete. Lynn used a couple tablespoons of coconut oil which is high in saturated fat, 2 garlic cloves, and shredded ginger to add a bit of flavor.

WMDT — The Lower Shore Performing Arts Company is set to perform a staged reading of a new original musical called My Curiosity on May 17th and 18th. This morning, Hannah Kate, stopped by to tell us more about it and where you can get tickets. She says the show is written and directed by a local resident that was fascinated by Thomas Edison.

This morning, Steve Leonard, the president and CEO of TidalHealth, and Don Owrey, the president of Atlantic General Hospital, stopped by to discuss the two health systems’ partnership. Owrey tells us expanding access is a big priority for both organizations, as the community that needs their services is growing.

Kristen Bratcher is 6th grade science teacher at Somerset Intermediate school and recently named the 2025-2026 teacher of the year. This morning, she’s here to tell us more about this honor and her career in education. Bratcher has been teaching for over 6 years and says that winning teacher of the year feels surreal.

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are currently investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured. Just before 1:15 a.m. yesterday, police were called to the parking lot of McGlynn’s for shots fired. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old male and a 21-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the nearest hospital where the 22-year-old died. There are no leads at this time.

DOVER, del. – Police are investigation shots fired incident at the waffle house. according to police, around 1 a.m. yesterday they were called to Waffle House on 40003 South DuPont highway for shots fired. When they arrived, they learned that multiple people were arguing in the restaurant’s parking lot when someone fired shots in the air. Everyone, including the unknown suspect, left and no one was injured. Surveillance video and images are not available.

WMDT – If you’re a fan of golf and want to stretch your legs, United Needs and Abilities (UNA) is hosting their 2nd annual disc golf tournament tomorrow. The funds raised go towards supporting those in our community with developmental disabilities. UNA currently serves all 9 counties, and the funds will go to their cash assistance program. We sat down with, Sarah Gleason, the CEO of UNA, and Taylor Hubbard, from East Bound Disc Golf Club who tell us this event is more than just about the money.
