HOUSTON – Our KPRC 2 and UTMB Health Athletes of The Week for the week of May 8 is the Lamar Texans 4 x 400 relay team. The Texans ran a Texas state record time of 3:08:51 in their regional meet, breaking a state record dating back to 1994. “I was excited because we were going to win the regional meet and we ran so much better than we did the day before, but then you see the time and you’re in shock and don’t believe you ran that fast,” said head coach Gerrick Green.
