On Monday, members of the USC Divest from Death encampment pledged they are not going anywhere from Alumni Park following talks with President Carol Folt. Speakers told the crowd in the park that the meeting with Folt was “frustrating,” even as they plan to return to the negotiating table Tuesday at 2 p.m.According to a USC Divest representative, Folt told negotiators that no students involved in the encampment were at risk of academic consequences for their participation.

At first glance, you might think you’re looking at a Google Maps car. But these self-driving vehicles actually belong to Waymo, an autonomous rideshare company founded here in California. Waymo, formerly known as the Google Self-Driving Car Project, operates as a subsidiary of Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. As of December, Waymo vehicles had driven 7.1 million miles between the cities of Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

It cost an average 7 million dollars to put an ad up during yesterday’s Super Bowl game. And companies and religious organizations spent millions more for celebrity endorsements. Beyonce, Tom Brady and Jennifer Lopez were just a few of the A-list celebrities featured in this year’s Super Bowl ads. Fred Cook directs the USC Center for Public Relations. He says ad agencies are overusing celebrities and that it reduces the effectiveness for the brands.

From now until December 5, the USC Sustainability Hub is home to both a non-perishable food drive benefiting the Trojan Food Pantry and USC Student Basic Needs and a winter clothing “drop ‘n’ swap” with FreeSCycle. Students are asked to donate any winter clothing and accessories for the clothing swap but are welcome to participate without bringing an item themselves. Any of the unclaimed clothing will be donated to Goodwill after Dec. 5, according to the event listing on the USC Event Calendar.
