The Lodi High baseball team brought straight heat onto the Vic Alkire Field diamond Wednesday afternoon. The Flames burned the hosting Tracy High Bulldogs with their offense pouring in double-digit unanswered runs in the 20-0 five-inning win. Lodi improved to 13-3 (7-1 TCAL) as a result. For the ‘Dogs, it was their fifth straight defeat as they fell to 8-11 and 3-5 in the Tri-City Athletic League. Tracy is on a tough stretch after starting its league campaign with a sweep of Kimball.

The Mountain House High boys volleyball team is showing no signs of slowing down in the Valley Oak League (VOL). The Mustangs (18-4, 8-1 VOL) beat their namesakes from Oakdale (3-23, 1-6 VOL) comfortably on Monday at home in their eighth consecutive win. The ‘Stangs won 3-0 to stay right on the heels of Manteca (8-0 VOL) in the race for the league title.

Tracy High’s junior leader Emalee Cargill looked to her team’s dugout as she removed her elbow guard after reaching first base. “Let’s go!” she yelled out. Cargill’s RBI single had just scored sophomore Taylor Sansaver to finally break the deadlock and give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead on the road over Kimball High in the top of the sixth inning on Thursday. What followed was an offensive avalanche by the visitors.

The Tracy High softball team won its fourth straight Tri-City Athletic League (TCAL) game when head coach Paulette Keeney’s Bulldogs rolled over crosstown rivals West High 18-0 on Tuesday at the Tracy Sports Complex. The ‘Dogs were ruthless in their dominant victory as they blew the game wide open with an 11-run first inning. They added seven more in the third inning to set the final score and wrap things up in five. Tracy erupted for 23 hits, including six doubles, one triple, and three home runs.

The Falcons followed up their league opening sweep of Aspire Langston Hughes Academy (ALHA) last week with a hard-earned 5-3 victory over Ben Holt College Prep Academy (BHCPA) at home on Wednesday to improve to 3-0 in the CCAA. The hosts’ high-scoring offense — which saw off ALHA by a combined 44-2 over two games — came out of the gates with a purpose against the Bobcats.

Both teams entered the contest with winning records, and despite having to fend off several Jaguar set points in the opening two sets, the Wolf Pack ran out of the gym with a comprehensive 3-0 victory. The win was the Pack’s second straight in the league to improve to 3-1.

The Jaguars improved to 9-3 (4-0 TCAL) with a solid 5-2 victory over the Pack on Thursday, extending their current win streak to eight games. West (3-4, 0-3 TCAL) is still looking for its premiere league win, but the Wolf Pack have been competitive in virtually every game, and this one was no different.

The West High baseball team is off to a rough start to its Tri-City Athletic League (TCAL) campaign. The Wolf Pack dropped to 4-6-1 on the year and 0-2 in league play after losing the first two games of their TCAL opening series to St. Mary’s on Monday and Wednesday by big margins. The two teams will play the third and final game on Friday in Stockton. Last time out, at home, West was held to just two hits by its visitors in a 16-1 five-inning loss.
