Skylar Baker was shot in the head while sleeping at her father’s house early Sunday morning. Several members of Skylar’s family were at the event in downtown Pageland, along with the community that is rallying around a young victim of gun violence. It’s something relatives say they greatly appreciate.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control is under an emergency situation as the shelter awaits 40 more animals to arrive while at max capacity. The shelter put out an urgent message on social media saying they are expecting 40 dogs that have been seized from a court case, but the shelter is already over capacity and they do not have enough kennels.

    MORGANTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Burke County officials are looking for an individual accused of causing thousands of dollars in damages to airplanes at Foothills Regional Airport. On May 26, deputies and NC State Highway Patrol responded to a reported breaking and entering at the airport. Surveillance video captured a white or silver/gray SUV, possibly a Jeep Grand Cherokee, pulling up to the airport around 8:39 p.m. A white man, around 30 to 40 years old, was seen exiting the vehicle.

(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Wadesboro Police have issued an arrest warrant for a juvenile believed to be “armed and dangerous”. 16-year-old Jayden Tillman is being accused of murder in connection to a homicide investigation that started last night at the North Wadesboro Discount Grocery. Police have arrested and charged Justin Wright in connection to this incident. Tillman is approximately 5’3, 140lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
