    Donna Sullivan has received numerous special awards during her hall of fame career. She says her latest honor ranks at the top of the list of those special awards and honors she has received over the years. The “Donna Sullivan Court” was named for her during the Seymour Community Schools board of trustees meeting Tuesday night at the Seymour Community Schools administration center. “It’s just a great honor,” Sullivan said. “I didn’t get into this to win awards.

    Zack Brown is waiting for a phone call. With spring training going strong at major league parks around Florida and Arizona, Brown is hoping to receive a call from his agent with an invitation to attend one of those camps to prepare for the 2025 season. Brown, graduated from Seymour High School in 2013, then pitched three years for the University of Kentucky, then signed with the Milwaukee Brewers organization in 2016.

    Among the reasons the Seymour boys’ basketball team of 50 years ago was so successful was because those Owls had to learn how to play man-to-man defense as early as seventh grade. The 1974-75 Owls held a reunion at the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium Friday night when this year’s Seymour team defeated Christian Academy.

    Coach Kirk Manns says he wants his Seymour basketball team to have some momentum built up going into next week’s Seymour Class 4A Sectional. The Owls won their third straight, and 13th in their past 14 games with a 51-42 win over Shelbyville Tuesday night in the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium.
