The goal is part of Saudi Vision 2030, a government program launched in 2016, which aims to diversify the country’s economic resources away from its traditional reliance on hydrocarbons and promote sustainability throughout Saudi society, alongside the longer-term objective of reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2060.

The Tonn Nua project is a 900 MW offshore wind farm that is envisaged under Ireland’s south coast ‘designated maritime area plan’ (DMAP). The DMAP specifies a geographical area within which new fixed offshore renewable energy projects could be developed in a sustainable way.

This includes asphalt, sandstone, cement products, concrete, bricks, blocks, pavers, natural rocks, sands and clays or engineered stone – to name a few. When these materials are processed, a fine dust is released into the air which, if inhaled, can result in serious health issues such as silicosis.
