A new CEO is gearing up to take the helm at McWane Science Center. According to a release, McWane Science Center has tapped a new CEO after a national search to succeed Amy Templeton, who announced her retirement last fall. Brandan Lanman will be McWane’s next CEO effective May 27. Lanman most recently worked for more than 18 years at Orlando Science Center, according to his LinkedIn profile. There he boosted access to experiential STEM learning, designing and executed award-winning exhibits.

Abandoned clothes are being sold off in preparation for the store's closure. A dry cleaner in Chelsea is closing its doors. Legacy Cleaners, a locally owned laundry and dry-cleaning business located at 609 Chelsea Crossroads in ZIP code 35043, will permanently close its doors, according to a Facebook post. As the shop prepares to close, abandoned clothes are being sold, such as men’s shirts for $2.99, pants for $6.20 and suit jackets for $8.65 all clean and pressed, the post read.
