Vulcan Materials is making moves in the South. A Birmingham-based company is one step closer to developing an industrial park in Dallas. Vulcan Materials Co. (NYSE: VMC), which produces construction aggregates, mainly crushed sand, gravel and stone and other construction materials including asphalt and concrete, aims to put an industrial park on a roughly 502-acre site in Terrell, Texas.

After more than three decades with the district, this educator is taking on a crucial leadership position. Bob Lawry, who was executive director of student services, will transition to his new role on June 1, according to a news release.
