    (Bloomberg) -- Owl & Co. calculated YouTube sales by estimating how much time people are spending watching podcasts and estimating viewership by country. The company vetted the numbers with many major podcasting companies. Owl & Co. also accounted for listenership in China, particularly on the popular app Ximalaya Inc., which is in talks to sell to Tencent Music Entertainment Group for $2.4 billion.

    Swedish audio conglomerate PodX Group AB is acquiring the majority of Lemonada Media, the network behind podcasts like Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Wiser Than Me and Meghan Markle’s Confessions of a Female Founder. The acquisition, which was announced Tuesday in a statement viewed by Bloomberg, marks the European company’s first purchase of a US-based network. PodX is spending around $30 million on the deal, according to a person familiar with the terms.
