BEAUMONT, CA — A Beaumont man learned the hard way not to mix household chemicals to make home-made weed killer Tuesday, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. Shortly after 2 p.m., a 911 caller reported a man was "having difficulty breathing." Officials arrived in the 1000 Block of Massachusetts Avenue in Beaumont, where the man was suffering "minor injuries" after attempting to formulate the weed killer.

BANNING, CA — A 71-year-old Yucca Valley woman died Monday after crashing over the mountainside on Mount Edna Road, west of Highway 243, according to California Highway Patrol. At approximately 5:45 p.m., Cal Fire Riverside County Fire Department firefighters, along with California Highway Patrol and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, all responded to the scene of the rollover near Highway 243 and Mt.
