Photo by Duane Burleson/Getty Images Happy Monday, and it was a Monday Funday at Comerica Park, let me tell you. To open their series against the Red Sox, the Tigers called on Jackson Jobe to pitch, while the Red Sox turned to Tanner Houck. In the first inning Rafael Devers got a one-out single, but he was the only baserunner for the Red Sox. The Tigers, meanwhile, didn’t waste much time before scoring some runs.

Photo by Bob Levey/Getty Images Happy Monday, friends! We’re coming off a rough loss for the Tigers on Sunday, but aside from the loss, it was also Mother’s Day. Baseball players all around MLB were celebrating their mothers. In the case of the Tigers, Mary Jung had to split her attention between two sons in the same game!Aside from getting to talk about moms, we also have solid proof that the new Pope is a White Sox fan (sorry Cubs!), and another manager has been axed.

Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images Despite a little weather (who ever thought we would see the day that weather delays would happen in Tampa!? I miss you, sweet, sweet Dome.) When the game finally did get underway about an hour after its originally scheduled start time, it was Drew Rasmussen on the mound for the Rays up against Chad Patrcik for the Brewers. The Brewers went 1-2-3 to start the first inning.

I mean, same, but he'll probably be a lot nicer about it than I would be.

Ichiro Suzuki just wants to 'have a good chat' with writer who didn't vote for him for Baseball Hall of Fame https://t.co/dJHQ2AiCYe

Ugh, stop it.

Rob Manfred says there is “buzz” around adding a "Golden At-Bat" rule to Major League Baseball, per @jaysonst. This rule would allow a team to choose one at-bat in every game to use their best hitter regardless of where they're at in the lineup. https://t.co/rHwqxw57ZW
