Sometimes your caller ID will display the name ofyour sheriff’s office. Don’t be fooled. That’s caller ID spoofing. The swindler claims to be a deputy. They’ll give you a made-up badge number and say, since you missed jury duty, now you have a warrant. You’re instructed to clear your name by sending money.

But mistakes can happen. Customers reached out to On Your Side, saying the wrong gasoline was found in their tank, and they weren’t getting anywhere with the company.
