Department of Conservation, Steve Hite of Environmental Restoration, LLC caught and released an eel on Monday, June 2 while on the Mississippi River south of Plattin Creek, near Festus. The MDC says eels are uncommon in the Show Me State but can occasionally be found in deep pools around cover, such as logs and boulders, in moderate to large Missouri streams and rivers.
