Le Coq executive chef a finalist again for James Beard Award in CaliforniaLast year, Tara Monsod, executive chef of Le Coq, a French steakhouse on Herschel Avenue in La Jolla, became the first San Diego County chef in 34 years to reach the final round of the James Beard Awards competition. This year, she did it again. Monsod is under consideration for the Best Chef: California award. In addition to Le Coq, she is executive chef of Animae, a Michelin-recommended restaurant in San Diego.
