LARGO, Fla. (WFLA)— A woman and child are in the hospital with serious injuries after a woman hit them in a Walmart Parking lot before leaving the scene, the Largo Police Department announced. Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash on Thursday night at the Walmart on 2677 Roosevelt Boulevard. Investigators determined the suspect, Luaren Howells, 32, hit a mother and her 6-year-old child who were exiting the store before crashing into other vehicles in the parking lot and leaving the scene.

(WFLA)— While patrolling a Tampa neighborhood, a Tampa police officer stopped to play some pickup basketball. “When you’re on patrol and spot a pickup game, there’s only one more: grab the ball and join in!” Tampa Police Department said in a post on Facebook. AdvertisementBodycam footage showed the officer catching the rebounds and encouraging the child until he made the basket. “Building stronger community ties, one game at a time,” TPD said in a Facebook post.
