Expect warmer days for the rest of April 2025. According to the Meteorological Services Singapore (MSS), inter-monsoon conditions are expected to continue for the month. In the next two weeks, there might be short-duration thundery showers on most days over parts of the island. Occasionally, these thundery showers might extend into the evening. Sumatra squalls are also forecast on a few days, during which there will be widespread thundery showers and gusty winds in the mornings.

In an effort to further protect Singapore's wildlife, more fencing will be installed along major roads near the Bukit Timah and Central Catchment Nature Reserves. This exclusion fencing, as it is called, will help mitigate wildlife collisions with vehicles, the National Parks Board (NParks) said on Apr. 14.

One man in Singapore had just dropped off his son at a childcare centre at ITE Headquarters on Apr. 8, when he came across a peculiar sight. A murder of crows crowding around something on the ground near the building's carpark exit. Speaking to Mothership, Chia Aik Chuan said the scene "got [his] attention", and upon taking a closer look, realised the subject of the crows' interest was a tiny owl. He decided to park his car and retrieve the owl.

Local primatologist Andie Ang has called on the authorities to monkey-proof estates in Punggol after troops of long-tailed macaques were sighted there on multiple occasions. ADVERTISEMENTIn February, a large troop of monkeys was spotted loitering around a few blocks at Punggol Northshore. And it appears that the monkeys are still frequenting the area.

It seems monkeys have become a persistent feature at Punggol, near Coney Island. When Mothership went down to the Waterway Sunrise estate on Mar. 27, residents shared that they have seen the animals rummaging through trash, loitering along the nearby park connector, as well as climbing on the balconies of some of the Housing Development Board (HDB) units. ADVERTISEMENTOne elderly woman even recalled how she was chased by a monkey and had to hide in a nearby public toilet.

Former president Halimah Yacob shared a picture of a Grab delivery rider that had the caption "salute to all single mothers" in the screenshot. The photo in question, originally posted by the Singapore Private Hire Car Drivers & Riders Community Facebook group, showed a GrabFood rider with a notice pasted onto the back of her delivery bag. 2024 was a rather eventful year when it came to weather phenomenon. An annual climate assessment of the previous year by the Meteorological Service Singapore showed that there were three notable weather events, all of which happened in the second half of 2024. The report, which was released on Mar. 23, covers Singapore's main climactic features and notable weather records of the year. It also highlighted that 2024 was Singapore's warmest year on record, tied with 2019 and 2016.
