Maize senior Alan Hanna delivered the highlight of day one with a dominant performance in the 6A boys’ high jump. Hanna cleared 6’10” on his first attempt, then became the only athlete to clear 7 feet and 7’2″.

The event brought together over 200 athletes from across the region. Wichita, Kan. (KSNW) — The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles softball team is once again state-bound after taking down Hays 9-0 in the 5A Regional Finals at Three Rivers Youth Complex. This is the 19th consecutive season the Golden Eagles have punched their ticket to the state tournament, and this time around, they’re going with the chance of repeating as state champions. “It’s just a matter of the hitting is contagious and we kept it up,” head coach Steve Harshberger said. “That broke it open.

(KSNW) — The Maize South Mavericks went 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon with wins against Goddard High and Valley Center to punch their ticket to state. “Super proud of them,” explained head coach Cody Stucky. “Just a very talented group. They work hard and they’re just really motivated because last year was it was rough at the end of last year. The junior currently ranks first in 5A ahead of the KSHSAA Regional Tournament on Tuesday. He is scoring an average of 71.29 through seven tournaments this season. “I’ve been playing really well,” Farber said. “It’s just been a lot of hard work, and it’s finally, I think, kind of paying off.”Farber started his season with a victory at the Andover Invitational and hasn’t looked back.

HAVEN, Kan. (KSNW) — Haven softball served Wichita Trinity it’s first loss of the season on Monday after a standout performance by pitcher Avery Brawner. Pitching a full game, the junior struck out 11 athletes on the way to a 4-3 victory. Brawner also tallied her 367th career strikeout, breaking a school record that stood since 2009. “I was flabbergasted.
