LAHORE: Police arrested a grade 19 doctor in a terrorism case after he allegedly opened fire on two school buses in the Cantonment area on Wednesday morning. One of the buses was carrying students at the time of the incident, according to the police. The suspect, identified as Dr Zulqernain Butt, is a senior consultant anesthetist at the Services Hospital.

LAHORE: The Punjab police investigation department is all set to field 1,450 specially trained officers to run the Special Sexual Offences Investigation Units (SSOIUs) across the province in alignment with the Anti-Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act. These dedicated units were established in Punjab under section 9 of the Anti-Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act 2021 following the longstanding complaints of defective investigations into the rape and other sexual crime cases.

LAHORE: A police head constable allegedly involved in cross-border smuggling of drugs through drones was injured during a raid of the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in Hadiara, close to the Pakistan-India border. The incident took place some days back and the injured policeman, Head Constable Khurram Shahzad Khan, was shifted to hospital where his condition was said to be critical. Sources said a bullet hit in his abdomen and another in his leg during an armed clash with a law enforcement agency.
