On May 19, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear made a statement saying National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, Weather Radios would suspend coverage in Kentucky until Wednesday, May 21. But, it was later clarified that the suspension only applies to transmitters served by the Louisville weather forecast office. The reason for the suspension is because the transmitters in Louisville are undergoing a major computer upgrade.

AQS QuiltWeek kicks off today, and American Quilter’s Society staff members on April 17 began the process of moving the quilts into the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center. Staffers hauled in box after box of quilts into the convention center, preparing to stage them for display. Quilts entered in the QuiltWeek competition were kept under wraps on the 24, and they will be judged starting this Friday.

A student from western Kentucky was recently named the 2024-2025 Homecoming Queen at Murray State University. Magalee Blazina was crowned Saturday, Oct. 19, right before the homecoming football game kickoff at Roy Stewart Stadium. Magalee was nominated for the prestigious title by the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, of which she is the vice president, as well as nominated by the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.

A local student from Western Kentucky was recently named the 2024-2025 Homecoming Queen at Murray State University. "I truly have no words!" Magalee said in an Instagram post, celebrating the memorable crowning event.
