NYPD: Shooting in Unionport leaves 1 person dead and •Jul 22, 2024, 1:43 AM•Updated 18 min agoA shooting that took place in Unionport on Sunday left one person dead, according to police. NYPD officials say that a man was shot in the head and killed along Bruckner Boulevard just before 4:15 p.m. The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Jose Baez. Police say they are searching for the suspect - a man wearing a white shirt and black pants. No arrests have been made.

This comes after the church's Catholic school shut its doors in February 2023.

Brandon Hendricks, a former basketball player and fellow Bronx resident tragically lost his life just 5 years ago to a senseless shooting by a stray bullet.
