The Kansas Highway Patrol said around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, a 2014 Peterbilt Semi Tractor was southbound on Highway 283 when a 2020 Chevy Malibu attempted to turn onto the highway from Lower Dam Road. KHP said the Malibu pulled out in front of the semi, leading it to strike the vehicle.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A lawsuit between a movie theater operator and a developer will not be heard in federal court. AMC, who formerly operated a seven-screen theater at the Conestoga Mall – now known as the redeveloped Conestoga Marketplace – filed a lawsuit last month in U.S. District Court against redeveloper Woodsonia, the City of Grand Island, the city’s Community Redevelopment Authority and attorney Greg Scaglione who represented both Woodsonia and the CRA.

Grand Island's newest movie theater is set to open next week. B&B Theatres' Grand island 7 announced on its Facebook page it will open on Thursday, May 1 at the redeveloped Conestoga Marketplace. The new facility will have a brand new 7-screen theater with heated recliner seating, a 10-lane bowling alley, a 7,000 SF arcade loaded with your classic and new games and 4 full-size pickleball courts. They will also feature a new restaurant and full-service bar. Tickets can be purchased online.
