Abstract This article proposes an adaptive event-triggered output feedback tracking scheme for a class of nonlinear systems for which the system nonlinearities coupling with unmeasurable states satisfy a more general growth condition than those in the existing literature. To estimate the transformed state variables, a reduced-order observer is first designed by using the gain scaling and estimation-based techniques.
