    President Bola Tinubu’s speech was briefly interrupted in Kaduna on Thursday when an unidentified man attempted to breach his security. Tinubu was in Kaduna to inaugurate several projects executed by Uba Sani’s administration when the yet-to-be-identified approached him, prompting the president to pause his speech. Tinubu appeared momentarily surprised but quickly regained composure as members of his security detail swiftly intervened, restraining the intruder before he could get any closer.

    Dele Farotimi, human rights advocate, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Benue state. The president was in Benue to commiserate with the state government and the people over recent attacks by suspected herdsmen which left over 200 people dead in Yelwata and Daudu communities in Guma LGA. In an interview on The Morning Brief,  Channels Television programme, on Thursday, Farotimi said that the president failed to address the gravity of the situation.

    Moshood Jimoh, the commissioner of police (CP) in Lagos, says response time to robbery and public order offences in the state has been cut to just five minutes. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, Jimoh said the response time used to be 10 minutes but has now been reduced to five. “Our response time to crime is less than 10 minutes. We have even reduced it further to five minutes. Once you call us, in under five minutes, we are there,” he said.
