    The Orioles begin their 2025 season Thursday in Toronto. As the year begins, I think the O’s are the best team in the East, and probably the best team in the AL. I think they go 92-70, and steadily look increasingly more formidable as the year progresses. I’m not worried about Henderson starting the year on the IL. The O’s are just being cautious with their best player. I’m not worried about Bautista’s ‘health’, but I think his performance may be a bit up and down at-least the first few months.

    On January 20, the Baltimore Orioles officially said farewell to Anthony Santander after he signed a contract with the rival Toronto Blue Jays. Of course, Santander’s departure wasn’t exactly a surprise after the Orioles signed Tyler O’Neill earlier in the offseason. While O’Neill and Santander are certainly both power-hitting corner outfielders, they’re hardly clones. The pair differ in several key factors including their strikeout rate, platoon splits, health and of course, their contracts.

    Easily the biggest need that the Baltimore Orioles had entering the MLB offseason was on their pitching staff. Injuries certainly hurt, as projected key contributors Kyle Bradish, John Means and Tyler Wells all went down with season-ending ailments. The bullpen was a mess with the Craig Kimbrel experiment not going according to plan either. It was a major blow to the Orioles when their ace, Corbin Burnes, departed in free agency, signing a deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
