Halton’s job market held steady in 2024, even as the total number of businesses took a slight dip, according to the region’s latest employment survey. Halton Region’s 15th annual employment survey, conducted last year, shows mostly steady figures for jobs and business activity across the region. While there were fewer businesses overall, the number of jobs increased slightly. A total of 13,500 businesses were counted in 2024, down from 13,810 the year before.

In some cases, the concerns led to temporary closures. Here’s a list of daycare operators that are offering reduced fees to families under the federal-provincial CWELCC system.
