    Ebi Ere, a former University of Oklahoma standout, was named Thursday as McLain's boys basketball head coach, pending Tulsa Public Schools board approval. Ere, returning to his high school alma mater, succeeds former Oklahoma State star Randy Rutherford, who resigned after seven seasons to pursue another coaching opportunity. Ere was the Tulsa World’s co-state basketball player of the year in 1999 (with Booker T. Washington’s Antonio Reed).

    Longtime Broken Arrow assistant and former University of Tulsa player Chris Wallace is moving to Sapulpa as the Chieftains' boys basketball head coach. Wallace was on his older brother Beau's staff at Broken Arrow for seven seasons, including state tournament berths in four of the past five years with an appearance in the 2023 Class 6A title game. "It's bittersweet, I am so happy for him," Beau Wallace said Wednesday.
