Nandi governor Stephen Sang averted a potential confrontation with Gen Z in Kapsabet Town by joining them to receive their petition. Hundreds of Gen Z held a demonstration in the town demanding accountability of the county funds. The group carrying placards critical to the county government had blocked the county office entrance where Governor Sang was holding an executive meeting.

Kalenjin council of elders has defended President William Ruto and issued a warning to Gen Z over the ongoing protests. The elders, accompanied by the business community, said the silence of the Kalenjin community should not be taken as a weakness. Led by chairman of Got-ab-Miyoot (Kalenjin elders’ umbrella body) Benjamin Kitur, the elders said Ruto was democratically elected and attempts to subvert the will of the people will not be taken lightly.

Government spokesman Isaac Mwaura has criticized the organizers of the 'Where’s Crazy Nairobian’ X space for not allowing government representatives to respond to some of the issues raised. The daylong X space, which called for the release of blogger Billy Simani, alias Crazy Nairobian, also served as a platform for Kenyans to voice concerns about the contentious Finance Bill, 2024.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was on Friday asked not to engage in politics while he was giving his speech at a church-led function. While addressing congregants, Sudi said the Finance Bill will help young people access education with ease. However, while he was almost concluding his speech, Sudi was interrupted by the priest. The priest asked him not to engage in politics during the church service. "Nimemaliza Father nimemaliza," Sudi said.

The mother of Rex Masai, the man killed during the anti-Finance Bill protests in Nairobi, has revealed that she was informed of her son's shooting by his friends. Speaking at the City Mortuary on Friday, Jillian Munyau said she received the call around 7 pm on Thursday. By the time she arrived in town from Nyama Villa, Rex had already passed away. Rex had been rushed to a clinic in the Central Business District but was pronounced dead on arrival.
