Awilco Drilling said Thursday that an arbitration tribunal had ruled in its favor in its second case against Singapore-based Keppel FELS over a rig contract termination. It lost the first in April 2023. Awilco Drilling in 2018 ordered a harsh environment semi-submersible drilling rig from Keppel FELS.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Neptune Energy a drilling permit for well 35/6-4 A in production license 929 in the North Sea, offshore Norway. Neptune Energy will use the Deepsea Yantai semi-submersible drilling rig to drill the wildcat well. The offshore drilling rig is owned by CIMC and operated by Odfjell Drilling. According to the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, which granted its permission on Tuesday, the drilling is expected to start in November.

Swedish offshore support vessel owner Viking Supply Ships has taken delivery of the Normand Statesman AHTS vessel, under a bareboat charter deal signed with the vessel owner Ocean Yield in March 2023. As previously reported, Viking Supply Ships in March entered two bareboat charters with Ocean Yield for the Far Senator and Normand Statesman AHTS vessels, with purchase options and obligations.

Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor has extended the contract for the Havila Foresight offshore vessel. Equinor exercised a one-year option for 2024, according to the vessel owner, Havila Shipping. Financial details were not disclosed. The oil firm has three additional options, each of one year, for the period from 2025 to the end of 2027.
