Council members, particularly Council Member Chavez, expressed concerns about environmental harm in the area and expressed interest in looking into ways to address this issue in the future. Remote The Administration, Operations and Budget Committee authorized the issuance & sale of revenue bonds for an affordable housing preservation project at 124 Fourth Street SE, which houses seniors and people with disabilities. The Health and Human Services Committee approved an amendment to the county’s agreement with the City of Minneapolis to extend funding for Avivo Village through the end of 2026. This is in response to the city receiving a $1 million grant.

If approved by the City Council, Ryan Companies Chief Impact Officer Colleen Dockendorf would support “organizational development related to the Minneapolis Safe and Thriving Communities report” in the Office of Public Service. In a 4-2 vote, approved ~$1.4 million in workers’ compensation claims to several MPD officers. Chavez and Wonsley voted no.

Minneapolis, MN 55415 (Directions) After a closed session, the board voted to dismiss two complaints, as recommended by the Ethics Officer. No details are available to the public regarding the content of those complaints. Received and filed the quarterly ethics report. Ethics Officer Susan Trammell said there is “nothing in these reports that draws attention” besides the decrease in the numbers of complaints/inquiries, which is due to her taking more PTO as she approaches retirement.

Minneapolis (Directions) The committee discussed the benefits of collaborating with the Advisory Committee on People with Disabilities and how this could be started. There was an update on proposed reforms to the Advisory Boards and Committees:On September 19th, the City Council Committee of the Whole will be receiving and filing a report on the proposed rules for ABCs. At its Oct. 3 meeting, the Committee of the Whole is expected to approve a date for a public hearing.
