GWADAR: An alliance of different political parties, which had been protesting for the last 47 days in the port city of Gwadar, called off their sit-in on Thursday following successful negotiations with district authorities. The alliance has given the district administration one month to address the issues that prompted the protest. After the negotiations, a seven-point agreement was signed between both parties.

GWADAR: One man was killed as security forces thwarted an incursion into the residence of Gwadar deputy commissioner, police said on Saturday. A suspect tried to enter the deputy commissioner’s official residence between Friday and Saturday, the police said, adding that guards deployed at the house fired blank shots to stop the man.

GWADAR: An official of the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) was gunned down and another man injured in an armed attack in Panjgur district, police said on Tuesday. According to police, armed men barged into the Nadra regoinal office in the Chatikan area and opened fire. One official was killed, while another, who hailed from Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab, was injured.

GWADAR: Gwadar police raided a book stall in the port city on Tuesday, confiscating a large number of books and reportedly detaining several students. The raid targeted a stall set up as part of a book caravan organised by the Baloch Students Action Committee. According to reports, a police team led by senior officials seized books displayed at the stall, citing concerns over the material contained within them.
