The current ground investigation programme for the A83 Rest and Be Thankful landslide mitigation scheme in Scotland has reached its midway point as first reported by GE. Rest and Be Thankful is a section of the A83 trunk road 65km north west of Glasgow, which provides a critical transport connection to communities and businesses in Argyll and Bute. It is highly landslip-prone, with incidences including seven landslips occurring during the period of heavy rainfall in September and October 2023.
