COLUMBIA — Mizzou men's basketball officially announced the hiring of assistant coach Steve Wright on Tuesday morning. KOMU-8 Sports confirmed the initial reporting of Wright's hiring from Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 and Powermizzou.com on Monday afternoon. "He is well-established in the grassroots of basketball and recruiting is a strength of his," said Mizzou head coach Dennis Gates in a news release announcing the hire.

MEMPHIS- Mizzou could not follow up a stellar first half in their season opener and fell to Memphis for a second straight season, 83 to 75. The Tigers led by 10 at the half after a solid first 20 minutes. Mizzou locked down on Memphis defensively and ran the floor with ease leading to a 42-32 halftime advantage. But the second 20 minutes at FedEx Forum was completely different. A 9-0 Memphis run sparked the change.

COLUMBIA- His third season as Mizzou men's basketball coach may still be more than a week away but Dennis Gates is already working on next year. Class of 2025 4-star prospect Nicholas Randall announced on social media that he is committing to Missouri on Monday. Randall is a 6'7" forward who is originally from St. Louis but currently plays for Compass Prep in suburban Phoenix.

COLUMBIA- The Missouri women's basketball team will travel more than 1,200 miles to open the 2024-25 season when they face Vermont on the road to begin the season on November 4th. It will be the longest road trip of the season for a Mizzou team that plays 11 non-conference home games in the months of November and December. After opening at Vermont the Tigers will return to Mizzou Arena for their home opener against Southern University on November 7th.
