HARSTBURG — When Bill Vaughn talks about his love of racing, he says it wasn't so much him who found racing, but racing that found him. "I had a brother-in-law that raced circle track and it got into my blood and I started in 1972," he said. For over 50 years, Vaughn has competed in dirt track racing at venues across the state. On most Fridays during spring and summer, he said you can find him on the track, with his family and friends cheering him on in the stands.

JEFFERSON CITY - A Jefferson City gymnastics team is celebrating Mizzou Gymnastics’ historic program win. “We want to be a team on the final day of the season, and here we are,” said Shannon Welker, Mizzou Gymnastics head Coach. “Just really proud of them and excited that they can go down as the best team in Mizzou gymnastics history.” The Tigers earned their spot in the NCAA Championship Final Thursday night after they scored 197.300. This will make it Mizzou’s first time competing in the final.

Boone County broke ground on a $5 million child care center for first responders on Friday as county leaders praised the project as a nationwide first.
