    Alex Dunn has a chance to do something special this weekend. The Rustburg junior could dip under 14 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and is looking to set a new state record in that event at the combined Class 3 and 4 state track and field championships at Liberty University. Dunn, who recently committed to UVa for football, clocked a 14.09 recently at the Region 3C championships. The Class 3 record of 14.07 set in 2018 is well within reach at Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex.

They were soaking in a victory. Finally, as 11 p.m. approached, Sink began powering down the lights.

    In an E.C. Glass sweep of the eight-team field, Hilltoppers senior Cowen Napior and junior Izzie Smulik on Tuesday were named the Seminole District boys and girls players of the year. Both were electric this spring. And both catapulted their teams to regular-season success while also leading the way into region play. Smulik was the obvious choice for girls player of the year.
