The Harrogate Inn has been named the best pub in Yorkshire. The hotel on Ripon Road was named the best in the region at the National Pub & Bar Awards 2024 – one of 94 locations across the UK to have scooped a prestigious County Winner title. Following a multi-million pound refurbishment, The Harrogate Inn reopened in July last year. And as part of the renovations, the hotel opened its on-site pub Barking George.
Harrogate teen takes on London Marathon in memory of his dad

A Harrogate teenager running the London marathon to fundraise in memory of his late father. 18-year-old Rafe Colman-Chadwick will be among 50,000 runners taking on the world famous marathon on 21st April. Rafe will be one of just 200 18-year-olds to take on the challenge. He is fundraising for Brain Tumour Research after his father Damian died from brain cancer aged 49, five years ago. A Harrogate father-of-three whose wife died 36 hours after being diagnosed with Leukaemia is gearing up for his second marathon cycle challenge in a bid to hit his £300,000 fundraising target. Last year James Badger, from Kettlesing, marked the first anniversary of his wife Philippa’s death at the age of 42 with an epic 1700km cycle ride from Lands End to John O’Groats.

A popular restaurant and bar is celebrating five years since it opened in Harrogate. Three’s A Crowd first opened in Harrogate in 2019 on West Park and has since become one of the town’s favourite gastropubs. Police see number of '2 in 1' burglaries in south of Harrogate

North Yorkshire Police have reported a number of ‘2 in 1’ burglaries in North Yorkshire over the last few weeks. Officers have seen cases in the south of Harrogate, Selby, the rural outskirts of York and Craven areas. A 2-in-1 burglary is where a burglar breaks into your home with the specific purpose of getting hold of your car keys to steal your car. Twenty-four of these crimes have been reported since the beginning of March with six suspects arrested.
Musical theatre company to bring 'Sister Act the Musical' to Harrogate

A hit toe-tapping show is heading to the stage at Harrogate Theatre later this month. ‘Sister Act the Musical’ will be opening at Harrogate Theatre on 17th until 20th April. The heartwarming show follows Deloris Van Cartier, a sassy nightclub singer, who witnesses a crime and is forced to hide out in a convent. The show is being organised by RAOS Musical Theatre Company.
