(BP) – In a society that too often highlights the faults of fathers, Southern Baptist author and pastor Josh Smith encourages churches this Father’s Day to empower and remind them of the gift of fatherhood. As a father of five, Smith tries to display the joy of fatherhood to his own children, and he wants dads sitting in his church to feel and display that same sense of joy.

More than 2 million people flocked to northern Italy in 2015 to take a rare glimpse at the Shroud of Turin, purportedly the burial cloth in which the crucified Christ was wrapped and which now bears His image. Around the same time, CNN featured the shroud in the first of several documentaries attempting to uncover the “historical Jesus” by examining such relics.

Kentucky association finds new ways to partner with Disaster Relief

Some 15 years ago, the Kentucky association had an active DR ministry, championed by DR volunteer Tom Westerfield. Under his leadership, the association even owned and maintained DR equipment, including a DR shower trailer and child care trailer. But, when Westerfield died in a tragic accident over a decade ago, the ministry began to wane. When Associational Mission Strategist John Franklin began his ministry in the area roughly two years ago, the association practically had no DR ministry.
