    Three people, among them a journalist working with a Kameme radio and TV station were shot during the anti-government protests in Nakuru. Other scribes say the reporter Wanjeri wa Kariuki was shot three times in the thigh and was taken to a private hospital for treatment. Witnesses claim the police allegedly shot at the female scribe yet she was marked with a press card and jacket.

    One reason why the anti-Finance Bill demonstrators got a lot of popular support last week was that they were clearly peaceful and there was no looting. Now we risk a vicious circle as the government becomes more repressive and the demonstrators become more violent. This can lead to more destruction and more deaths. On Tuesday, around 13  protestors were killed by police firing live bullets and various influencers were abducted.

    Recently, I received news of the passing of a young creative who died in a road accident. This led me to remember one I was involved in myself. It was in the wee hours of the morning along Maai Mahiu, where we were making our way to Hell's Gate for the WRC race of that day. I was in the company of three friends and somewhere along the way I fell asleep, only to be awoken by the car hitting a huge "bump".

    Corporal David Kinyanjui from Lanet police station in a Nakuru law Court on May 22, 2024 A detective who recovered a toy pistol at the house of former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga's Wanyororo, was yesterday grilled following their 5 am raid on May 12, 2023. Njenga's lawyers Ndegwa Njiru and Evans Ondieki questioned Corporal David Kinyanjui from Lanet police station, on how he handled the pistol he allegedly recovered.
