ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings waived a top-15 draft pick and a Japanese guard ahead of the 2025 season. The Wings announced they had waived rookie guard-forward Madison Scott and Japanese guard Mai Yamamoto on Sunday. Dallas selected Scott with the 14th pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. She came from Ole Miss, where she averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 29.5 minutes per game. The Wings signed Yamamoto to a training camp contract in February.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating after a man physically assaulted a female TCU student Thursday morning. A spokesperson for TCU confirmed the assault took place around 7:34 a.m. in the 2400 block of Winton Terrace East, which is north of campus near the Fort Worth Zoo. A campus alert said the man grabbed the woman from behind and attempted to physically assault her before running away northbound on the same street.

DALLAS — A juvenile was shot at a southern Dallas apartment complex, police said. According to the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to the shooting call around 8:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of East Ledbetter Drive. Officers found a juvenile who had been shot, the department confirmed. DPD said Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. Their condition is unknown. Dallas PD said officers are investigating. This is a developing story.
