WFAA, a virtual channel and VHF digital channel 8, is an ABC-affiliated TV station that serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with its license based in Dallas, Texas. Owned by Tegna, Inc., WFAA operates from its main studio at the WFAA Communications Center Studios located at 606 Young Street in downtown Dallas, conveniently adjacent to the former offices of The Dallas Morning News. Additionally, the station features a secondary studio in the Victory Park area, which is utilized for its newscasts, and its transmitter is situated south of Belt Line Road in Cedar Hill. Notably, WFAA is one of the few broadcast stations west of the Mississippi River that starts with the "W" prefix.

    DALLAS — A 26-year-old Dallas man with three prior domestic violence convictions was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm as a felon, federal officials announced Tuesday. Thomas Keithlun Brown pleaded guilty to a possession of a firearm by a convicted felon charge in September 2024. Brown was sentenced last week to 70 months in federal prison, the DOJ said.

    DALLAS — Atlético Dallas released its inaugural "Commemorative Edition Kit" on Tuesday for its media day at Cotton Bowl Stadium. The jerseys – Blackland Crude and Texas Topaz – were released Tuesday morning. Atlético Dallas will play its home matches at the Cotton Bowl for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 seasons after the Dallas City Council approved a deal with the United Soccer League (USL) team based in Garland. Atlético Dallas will also take over managing MoneyGram Soccer Park from FC Dallas.
