President Trump is a great man, and what’s more, a brave man. I would not ordinarily call him a political philosopher of a high order, but now I think he is. He spoke in extremely broad terms Thursday night about his plans to stop the invasion of illegal aliens, about the absolutely vital deregulation of energy production, about the need for more police and more respect for police. The enemies of freedom are everywhere, especially in courts and media.

A few days ago, as I was talking to a close female friend, a thirty-year-old Filipina physicist at a prestige university in California, an idea came to me. “I feel so terrible about what’s happened in Israel,” she said to me. “The mass rapes. Burying Israeli women and girls alive, their throats slit, suffocating, while the terrorists stood over them laughing as they bragged about their murders to their parents on their cell phones. It’s unbelievable that this is happening.

The air is clear. There is a soft spring breeze blowing over our swimming pool. It’s sad but it’s true. I’m old. I am 79. I have pains at least somewhere every day. Young drunk people complain to my fabulous driver, Bob Noah, that “your old man is blocking traffic.” That was just a few months ago in Sandpoint. I am fearful of being old and homeless. Yes, I still have a beautiful wife. I still am a celebrity. I have a comfortable home in the flats of Beverly Hills. But I am scared. I am scared of the relentless power of old age. It’s on my mind night and day.

The most precious document in existence is the Constitution of the United States of America. This document spells out how the USA works, how the governance of the USA works, and what the rights of our citizens are and are not. It was created in the late 18th century by the Founders, including Madison, Jefferson, Hamilton, and Monroe. This, surely, is not what our Fathers intended. It’s what people with very different goals and needs want — and are getting. It was in several articles.
