I was listening to this Jack Altman interviewing Keith Rabois podcast, and he touched on some of the things that make him a good investor and/or board member. Which I liked. Riffing off that, I think of some of the benefits having fellow founders as investors/board members. As a fellow founder, who is active, they are in market. Meaning they can find/intro to live opportunities or see openings in the market as they happen…They (typically) have an active network, and founders know other founders.

Customer scam losses in January were the lowest for any month in five years, showing the impact of new safety features and growing public awareness around the risks. However, scam activity remains high and the bank continues to see customers proceed with payments to scammers even when informed that the transaction they’re about to make could present risk.

Community awareness around fraud and scams is increasing, and that’s a good thing. However, it’s also something the scammers are looking to exploit by luring people into taking actions to protect themselves which unwittingly have the opposite effect. That’s where bank impersonation scams can be particularly effective, and the scams team at Westpac continues to see people falling for these.
