Warri, Delta – No fewer than two persons were shot on Saturday at Okere Community in Warri Metropolis of Delta State. It was gathered the victims were shot by security operatives believed to be soldiers from the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Effurun Barrack. The first victim was identified as Macaulay Uku and the second simply identified as Eguono, was shot around midday during the visit to the area by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

Isoko, Delta – The Delta State government has inaugurated a State-of-the-art school building in Otor-Iyede Grammar School, Isoko North Local Government Area of the State. Benin, Edo – The various clusters of persons living with disabilities (PWDs) in Edo state, under the aegis of Edo Disability Forum (EDF), has reiterated calls for the establishment of a disability commission to drive implementation of the state’s disability law. The convener, Melody Omosah Esq who led other members of the forum on an advocacy visit to government house, in Benin City, on Friday, maintained that only a sustainable solution can well cater for the needs of PWDs in the state.

Benin, Edo – The operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested 10 illegal forex operators, also known as Bureau de Change, in the state. DAILY POST reports that the Commissioner of Police in charge of the command, Funsho Adeboye, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Benin City. According to him, “We arrested 10 forex hawkers, that is, people who illegally deal in the sales of foreign currencies. They have been identified for illegally dealing in the sales of foreign currencies.

Benin, Edo – Fresh trouble seems to be brewing in Edo State chapter of the Labour Party, as one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the party, Kenneth Imasuangbon, on Tuesday demanded that the party leadership declare him winner of the primary election. Recall that Olumide Akpata was declared winner of the primary election conducted by the Julius Abure faction of the LP, after he defeated Imasuagbon and four others last Friday, February 23.
